About Săcueni thermal strand
Four pools, a campsite and rooms on Strada Dunării 62 in Săcueni, Bihor County, trading as Strand 66. The operator is FONTIS COMPLEX SRL, tax code 51456169, a company set up on 14 March 2025; aggregators still list the previous operator, Campyng Baranto SRL. Unlike most strands of this size, this one publishes: strand66.ro works, in Romanian and Hungarian, and the price list on it is labelled “season 2026”.
One confusion is worth clearing up before you set the navigation. The Săcueni administrative area holds three thermal strands — Săcueni, Ciocaia and Sânnicolau de Munte. Strand 66 on Strada Dunării and the strand at Sânnicolau de Munte are separate places a few kilometres apart, and aggregators mix up their hours and prices. Travelminit files Săcueni under “Sălaj”, shows “575.7 km to the town centre” and sorts it internally under “muntenia / dâmbovița”. The county is Bihor.
Region & access
- Strada Dunării 62, Săcueni, Bihor County. Săcueni has been a tourist resort since 19 March 2021, and the strand was one of the arguments in that decision.
- Aggregator data on this place is poor, and the county is the first thing they get wrong. Take addresses, hours and prices from strand66.ro or from the phone, not from listings.
- The Bihor press comparison of 2026 strand prices covers eight strands in the county and leaves this one out entirely, although at 30 lei it would be the cheapest on the list.
Source & analysis
- 78 °C at the source, 36–38 °C in the pools, pH around 8, so a mildly alkaline reaction. The analysis is credited to a named laboratory, SC Bálint Analitika SRL — rare at small strands.
- The published values do not hold up dimensionally: Ca 4 µg/l, Mg 1 µg/l, Mn 0.01 µg/l, Fe 1 µg/l. Four micrograms of calcium per litre is effectively distilled water, not mineralised thermal water. Almost certainly a unit error on the site, so we do not repeat these numbers as fact.
- Listed without values: chloride, hydrogen carbonate, sulphate, nitrate, ammonium, orthophosphate and TOC. Borehole depth and whether the water is chlorinated are not published.
Facilities
- A restaurant and a buffet with vegan, vegetarian, children’s, lactose-free and gluten-free menus, a beach terrace, a café and a bar.
- Sports pitch, billiards, massage, a playground, and an artificial-turf football pitch that is free for guests staying in the rooms.
- For babies and toddlers: a nappy-changing table and the option to have baby food warmed up. A children’s slide, but no large slides.
Four pools, temperatures as declared
- Thermal pool, outdoor, 38 °C, 120 cm deep. This is the warm one and the reason to come outside high summer.
- Normal water pool 1, outdoor, 28 °C, 120 cm deep. Normal water pool 2, outdoor, 24 °C, 150 cm deep — the cool one, and the deepest.
- Children’s pool, indoor, 28 °C, 80 cm deep.
- The children’s pool is the only indoor one. The other three are outdoor and seasonal, which matters if the forecast is unsettled: on a cold or rainy day, the pool that stays usable is the shallow one for children.
- The thermal pool is declared seasonal, so it does not run in winter. This is a summer strand, not a year-round thermal complex.
- There are no large slides here — a clear difference from Carei, if you are choosing between the two for a day out with older children.
Opening hours
- Monday to Sunday, 10:00–22:00. Ticket sales stop at 21:00.
- The afternoon discount window does not line up with the opening hours. The 20 lei ticket is sold between 18:00 and 21:00, the strand closes at 22:00, and you may stay until closing — so a ticket bought at 20:30 is still a full evening at two thirds of the price.
- The opening and closing dates of the season are not published. Since three of the four pools are outdoor and seasonal, ask on the phone if you are travelling in spring or autumn.

- Ten-day pass: 200 lei for adults, 150 lei for pensioners and pupils.
- Read the pass rules before you buy. It is valid on any day with no fixed entry time and you may stay until closing, but it allows one entry per day and it expires 30 days from the date of purchase, not from first use. Buy it and then go away for a fortnight and you lose half of it.
- Packages: lunch, meaning entry plus a two-course set menu, 60 lei per person; family package, two adults, two children, lunch and a children’s programme, 190 lei per family; romantic evening, bathing 18:00–22:00 plus champagne and dinner, 190 lei for two.

Good to know
- The operator warns its own guests, on the accommodation page: in peak season, and above all at weekends, the area is noisy because of the music, and weekdays suit a quiet stay better. Almost no operator publishes that about itself, and it is the most useful line on the whole site.
- Camping: 50 lei per day per adult and 40 lei per day per child under 14, both with entry to the strand included — so the real supplement for a tent is 20 lei per adult. A caravan or motorhome is 60 lei per day per person, plus 20 lei a day for the car towing it.
- Rooms and cabins on site: a wooden cabin with three beds and a shared bathroom costs 210 lei a night for three people, 170 for two, 130 for one. A room with its own bathroom is 150 lei per person per night, with an extra bed at 150 lei for ages 14–18 or 100 lei for ages 6–14. Rates include entry to the strand and exclude meals.
- Parking carries two prices inside the same grounds: free at the front, 20 lei a day next to the cabins.
- The operator claims an anti-inflammatory, skin-calming and remineralising effect, with indications for rheumatic and musculoskeletal conditions and for skin problems. Those are the operator’s claims, not a medical authority’s.
- Staying nearby: Casa de oaspeți Hausz 215 at Sânnicolau de Munte, 6.3 km away, plus Casa Bia Cribo and Vila Onix in Săcueni. The choice in town is thin, which is part of why the on-site cabins fill up.
